White Lion - Return Of The Pride
White Lion - Return Of The Pride
The Wide known AOR / hard rockers White Lion return with their first full-length release since 1991. (During these years, many collections have been released also). The band’s frontman, the Danish Mike Tramp, has been released many albums as “Mike Tramp” and “Freaks Of Nature”
\r\nIn 2005 America’s White Lion has been re formed with completely new line up (except Tramp) of course. So in this new effort, “Return OF The Pride” White lion has many references to their most succeeded album “Pride” (1987), an album that in 1988 reached the 11th position in the Americas Top 200 Billborad.
\r\nBack to the new album now, the first thing that someone can notice, is that Mike’s voice sounds, more “Warm”. The whole album can be characterized by its “catchy” melodies, many nice acoustic interludes, many keys and a nice production made by Mike Tramp with Claus Langeskov (Also the bass player of the album).
\r\nI’ve been impressed by the opening track “Sangre De Christo” that is probably the track that do not fit the album the most, (without any negative meaning). Another track I d like to refer to, is “Never Let Go”, that sounds similar to their biggest hit, “When The Children Cry” from their second LP , “Pride”.
\r\nI feel that my “review” does not nean anything to these people that have been waiting for 17 years for a new White Lion album, also to those people that couldn’t even think of a new White Lion album, at all. All of you that you are about to be the new listeners of White Lion, I could suggest some earlier release of the band, that not means that the new album isn’t good, but I feel that the luck of Vitto Bratta (former guitarist of White Lion) is obvious. The album will be out via Frontiers Records in the 14th of March, and the european edition will feature a bonus track.
