\r\nIn preparation for the release of “Spread The Fire!!!”\r\non August 7th 2007, FUELED BY FIRE gave www.metalzone.gr an interview\r\ntalking all about how it feels getting a myspace message fromBRIAN SLAGEL writting he is signing you in Metal Blade Records, their new release, their touring throughout\r\nCalifornia from San Diego to San Francisco opening for bands like Agent\r\nSteel, Municipal Waste, Fates Warning, and Toxic Holocaust, with a full\r\nUS tour in the works....\r\nNo doubt FUELED BY FIRE is making a name for themselves by developing a\r\nfan base that’s growing every time they hit the stage. Keep an eye out\r\nfor these guy’s as they are literally SPREADING THE FIRE!!!\r\n

\r\nMetalzone: Give us a brief bio of the band. How did you all meet?
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nWell Carlos and I (Anthony),knew each other since elementary school, so\r\nwe grew up throughout our school years. Anthony met Rick in middle\r\nschool and introduces him to his friends, who are Carlos and “Sal Ex\r\nmember of FBF”. After a couple of singers that FBF went through still\r\nnot happy with the singer we had Sal and Rick went to a band practice\r\nand Gio was there. Gio told them that he was looking for a band so Sal\r\ntold Gio we were looking for a singer and Gio says, I play guitar and\r\nsing so they swapped numbers and he came and jammed with us and ever\r\nsince then he’s been in FBF. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: From\r\nthe 5th of March you officially belong to the roster of Metal Blade\r\nRec. How did all the arrangements with this label took place in the\r\nfirst place?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire: Well the way it happened was Brian Slagel contacted us through myspace.com in a message and it said "FROM "BRIAN SLAGEL" and he wrote "HEY GUY’S WHATS UP? THIS IS BRIAN SLAGEL WITH METAL BLADE RECORDS, CAN YOU SEND US SOME CD’S WE ARE INTERESTED". We were like "WHAT THE FUCK!, IS THIS SHIT REAL"! So we replied back asking is this shit real! He said yes it is. We are interested in signing Fueled by Fire to "METAL BLADE RECORDS" and after that we sent them the cd’s. Then a couple of weks later we got the contracts, hired an attorney "IAN FRIEDMAN" he worked out the details for us and now we are here, with Metal Blade Records.\r\n

\r\nMetalzone: Are you pleased with the promotion you’ve had so far?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire: Sure. So far from what SURE we see it’s mainly been, Germany and European Metal Blade\r\nthat have sent us the most interviews and promoted us. Here in the US\r\nit’s not as much as we expected but it’s picking up now that the\r\nrelease is getting closer.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: Under\r\nthis label you also re-release your debut album SPREAD THE FIRE. What\r\nwas the thought behind this specific movement? You believe that the\r\nalbum didn’t’t get the appropriate impulse the first time?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire: The initial impulse for our self release was overwhelming! It Had only been out for 3 weeks when "BRAIN SLAGEL" contacted us, it took the attorney’s that long to work out all the details for us to officially sing with "METAL BLADE" so we just continued to sell our version of "SPREAD THE FIRE" until every thing was settled and "METAL BLADE"\r\nhad no problem with that, since things weren’t settled yet. So the\r\nsolution for a re-release was to remix and re-master and to ass some\r\nnew material to it. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: The album was re-mixed and mastered by Joey Vera. The experience working with him how was it really?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nWell, it was kinda tuff because we are not used to working by email. We\r\nare used to working together with that person face to face, so after a\r\nthousand emails back n forth we just finally said it would be better if\r\nwe do it together. So sure enough Carlos and Gio went to his house and\r\nworked with him and so, guess that turned out good. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: There’re going to be some bonus features. Could you give us some details about that?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire: Yeah. The bonus tracks are two of our newest songs that we had in mind for our next album, "CHAOTIC PUNISHMENT" and "PUT TO DEATH"\r\nbut in order to do a re-release of the same album it made sense to add\r\nthese two bonus tracks to give those who bought the first one something\r\ndifferent and new, and it also gives you a taste of what you can expect\r\nfor the next release. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: Your\r\nmusic can be described as old-fashion thrash metal with a surrounding\r\nessence of the NWOBH, ascending right up from the golden pit of the\r\n‘80s.Do you believe that there is a vivid thrash metal reincarnation in\r\n2007?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nYeah, we do I mean c’mon look at L.A. the thrash scene is big over\r\nhere! And it gets bigger every show we play! More n more fans pop out\r\nand now it seems to get bigger in every other state and country as\r\nwell. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: The cover of the album has also that "back from the old days" aura of that past decade. Was this a full conscience choice?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nHell yeah! It was! The artist didn’t wanna do it but we said fuck that\r\nthis is what we want! And we got it and yes we are all very happy with\r\nit! Fuck Posers!!!!\r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: Your\r\ncd will be available in the stores on August 7th. However there is some\r\ngreat movement in the feedback already. What are the first reactions so\r\nfar?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nAs for our first reactions are like wow!! It’s actually going to be in\r\nFucken Store! We never thought this would happen. But from the feedback\r\nits like bad ass man were glad people like it! Thanks! \r\n

\r\nMetalzone: How do you write your music? Is there a main composer behind it ?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nNo we all have some input into whatever material we put together,\r\nwhenever we practice someone just starts pulling something new out like\r\na riff he was thinking about trying, and we all feed off of it and add\r\nmore then it starts sounding good. That’s how its been since day one! \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: Who are some of your big musical influences?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire: IRON MAIDEN, ARMORED SAINT, VIO-LENCE, EXODUS, SLAYER. Etc…\r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: What about your lyrics section. Do you lay on them the same important credit as on the music?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire: Yeah, we do, the lyrics always come last so we can fit in perfect with the music.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: Do you listen to other kind of music?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire: THRASH/ N.W.O.B.H.M, CLASSIC ROCK\r\n

\r\nMetalzone:\r\nYou’ve been on the road with some major names of the metal scene, as\r\nHallows Eve, Agent Steel, Fates Warning etc. Do you remember something\r\nin particular, good or bad?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nWe never had anything bad, it all went fucken bad ass!!! We always try\r\nto learn something new when we play with these bands that have already\r\nbeen where we want to do. And they have all been cool with us and\r\nwilling to talk to us about what ever we want, try to learn from their\r\nexperience as well as our own.\r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: Is there any specific favourite band you would like to share a stage with?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nYeah man our influences!!! Haha that would be the shit!!!But other than\r\nthat we would love to play with Violater from Brazil, that would be bad\r\nass. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: Since we here haven’t seen Fueled By Fire live so far how would you describe yourselves on the stage in a few words?
\r\n

\r\nFueled By Fire: HEAD BANGING MANIACS!!!!\r\n

\r\nMetalzone: Do you prefer to be on a tour somewhere in the world or the studio process?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire: FUCKING TOUR!!! Meeting all the fuckin head banging metal heads out there!\r\n

\r\nMetalzone:\r\nAs American musicians do you detect any big differences between the\r\nAmerican and the European metal fans in the way they both see and\r\nunderstand or react to the music of metal?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nTo us we think Germany fans fuckin love it man! From videos we see\r\nthey’re into it so much like emotionally and more headbanging and fist\r\nin the air. Over here its about moshing stage diving the works but\r\neither one is fucken great!\r\n

\r\nMetalzone: What are your ambitions on the band’s development?
\r\n

\r\nFueled By Fire: To keep thrash alive and to keep it growing!!!

\r\nMetalzone: What are the best and worst things about being in a band?
\r\n

\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nThe best thing about being in a band is doing what u love and playing\r\nin front of people that love your music. That’s the best and playing\r\nplaces we never been. The worst part is probably leaving home for a\r\nwhile other than that it’s all good!\r\n

\r\nMetalzone: Are there any other interests in your life?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nRight now that’s hard to say we are all just trying to get our music\r\nout there. Other than that it’s school, work and personal interests,\r\nsports etc. \r\n

\r\nMetalzone: What are your opinions about the internet’s involvement?
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFueled By Fire:\r\nWe think it’s cool! The internet is what helped us out. You can get\r\nsome good feedback sometimes and sometimes you don’t, it works either\r\nway it’s all good. \r\n

\r\nMetalzone: What are your next plans for some gigs in and outside of America?
\r\n

\r\nFueled By Fire: JUST FUCKING THRASHING IT UP! Playing our best and making more fans out there!!!\r\n
