\r\nThe long awaited debut cd of the promising Hellenic band, SACRED BLOOD is finally ready and released from Eat Metal Records. MetalZone “grabbed” the guitarist/composer Polydefkis for a quick “interrogation” about the masterpiece “The Battle Of Thermopylae: The Chronicle” \r\n

\r\nMetalzone: Your brand new record “The battle of Thermopylae: The Chronicle” is finally released from Eat Metal Records. The result proves that it worth the wait and I guess you must be proud of it. But give us some details about the reasons that made this release to be so delayed and the possible difficulties that you faced. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nPolydefkis: Well..the difficulties we faced were multiple and numerous…needless to say that we rerecorded many parts all over again, but the final result should sound very nice to everyone!! \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: The sound production is amazing and far beyond the usual, typical greek poor sound quality. Where did the recordings took place? Describe us the recording and mixing process. Do you think that nowdays the greek bands can have a professional result in greek studios or the studios abroad in the only way? \r\n
\r\n
\r\nPolydefkis: my friend…hard work gives good results…the clue is hard work and skilled music engineers!! \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: The concept of “Battle of Thermopylae” is quite obvious. How did you come up with the idea of this concept and give us a description of the lyrics in each song. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nPolydefkis: When he had released our demo back in 2003, we passed through a very hard brainstorming process to figure out what our next endeavor would be…we thought that the battle of Thermopylae would be a perfect 2nd effort in or musical journey!! \r\n

\r\nMetalzone: The first thing that someone can notice on this cd, is the amazing cover! Who is the designer of this masterpiece and how did you contact him? Do you believe that a good cd cover can affect the sales of a cd release? \r\n
\r\n
\r\nPolydefkis: The front cover is actually a painting painted by his maestroship, JP FOURNIER, who has crafted similar works of art for other bands as well, such as IMMORTAL, GAMMA RAY… I think that the overall quality of a record affects the sales as well as the impact it has on people \r\n
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone: Your music is based on hard-riffin’ guitars and emotional vocals but despite that, we can hear also some other instruments that contribute in the epic atmosphere. Tell us some things about the way you compose and arrange the songs and the guest musicians who contributed to the final result. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nPolydefkis: Each one of us has some ideas and when we meet each other, we combine them and filter them so in the end we can produce and compose a song that satisfies us all! The guest musicians for this album were: \r\n

\r\n- George Karahalios: Drums and percussion
\r\n- Thanasis karapanos: accoustic guitar in the intro of "HEROIC SPIRIT"
\r\n- Stavros Bonikos: twin lead guitar melodies in "SPARTAN WARLORD"
\r\n- Mike Galiatsos : lead guitar in "SPARTAN WARLORD"
\r\n- Hildr Valkyrie: Narrarion as Pythia in "ORACLE" and female choirs \r\n

\r\nMetalzone: In the cd I can “grab” some influences from Grave Digger, Virgin Steele etc. Give us some details in first hand, about the musical influences of each member of Sacred Blood and your personal influences as a guitar player. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nPolydefkis: We all listen to epic, heavy metal as well as to classical music, folk tunes and many other tracks that inspire us to compose and think as free men!! My personal influences ah? I think you already know them!! The entire german scene as well as some American metal heroes!! \r\n

\r\nMetalzone: Quality epic metal is hard to find today but Sacred Blood make the difference with “Battle…”. Nowdays, the metal industry’s direction is female-fronted-bands , symphonic black metal etc. What is your opinion about these musical styles and the heavy metal generally in 2008? \r\n

\r\nPolydefkis: I like everyone who plays music straight from his heart…that should cover your question!! \r\n

\r\nMetalzone: Let’s travel to the past. When exactly Sacred Blood formed? You had also an amazing demo with epic anthems like Velerefontis. Tell us some things about the band’s past, the previous singer and the other members and how can someone, who likes “Battle Of Thermopylae”, can find your old demo. \r\n

\r\nPolydefkis: It is pretty much difficult my friend..but when the will stands above the needs, all things can be accomplished!! \r\n
\r\n
