Metalzone.gr - How did you decide to found - join the band?

\r\nShock Absorber were founded in February 2006 by George Matikas (ex-WANTED, ex-Last Round) and Kostas Tsagaris (ex-Sick’s daze) and they started working on some ideas.In July 2006 Antonis Kanaris (drums, ex-Last Round) joined the band. He had worked before with George in the Last Round band and the line up was completed shortly afterwards when "Bebis" (Bulldoza, panx Poutana) joined on vocal duties and Taso on bass.

\r\n\r\nMetalzone.gr - Why did you choose that name for the band?
\r\n
\r\nThe band’s name came by accident. Some time Kostas had to change his car tires and while we has waited the roadside assistance, he saw it somewhere written.
\r\n
\r\n\r\nMetalzone.gr - Why did you choose to play this music genre and not another?
\r\n
\r\nWe think that we do not play a specific music genre, despite the various labels that we have heard now and then. Our music is the result of the influences that each member has.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr - Who does compose the music, what is the main theme of your lyrics do you think there may be changes to your music and lyrics in the future?
\r\n 
\r\nMost part of the music and lyrics are written by Kostas, but any member that has any ideas can contribute to the compositions and the orchestration, if necessary. We don’t know if there are going to be any changes in the future as far as it has to do with our music.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr - I would like some words about your cd.
\r\n
\r\nThe recordings started one and half year ago in the Fotis Demertzis Mix Studios, with whom we are familiar for years. In the same studio we recorded the promo as well, we mixed it and mastered it. At the moment, we are mixing the album, and the reason is that we had a long break because of Antonis military duty. The album will have 9 new songs and 2 from the promo. The album songs are heavier than the promo songs.We can say that we have experimented more on our music and during the production. Mastering probably is going to take place in the USA, but this is still unsure. It can also be done in the Mix Studios. Hopefully within the next five months will have completed the album and our contacts with labels in order the album to be released.

\r\nMetalzone.gr - Now I just want some words about each of you.
\r\n
\r\nIn the band we are all self-taught musicians and all of us have a job, besides Bebis who is a university student.
\r\n
\r\n\r\nMetalzone.gr - What are your goals now that you have a set of concerts in your assets, but also a cd?
\r\n
\r\nAs more live shows as possible. It is not easy to book as many shows as we want because of our jobs. Also the completion of our album is our first priority. Last but not least a good label contract (primarily strong distribution for Greece and abroad and a lot of album copies).
\r\n
\r\n\r\nMetalzone.gr - How does it feel being on stage and come in touch with the audience?
\r\n
\r\nAfter the lengthy process of recording, to find the scene is a climax! Essentially this is the goal, to play your music live in front of an audience, watching reactions to fun and you make tastes generally.
\r\n
\r\n\r\nMetalzone.gr - If you could go back in time, would you make any changes to the band, or not?
\r\n
\r\nNo, not all
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr - What is the hardest and the easiest part of your job?
\r\n
\r\nThe most difficult is to get ourselves together in one place. Tasos (bass) and Anthony living in Aridaia and Athens respectively, so it’s difficult for us to rehearse. The easiest part, is probably the concerts, cause when we get on stage and get in touch with the crowd it’s the best reward for us.
\r\n
\r\nMetalzone.gr - What are your plans in the near future?
\r\n
\r\nAs we said before our top priority is to complete the album. We are already composing new songs and there are some booked live shows. Also we discuss more more live shows, some of the abroad. More to be announced in the future. There is also a near future live on Saturday 11 / 4 to Eightball, with Psycho Choke and two other bands
