Madball @ Sfendona Club

\r\nIt’s a Hardcore-Punk afternoon here in Athens and all the good kids are outside the Sfentona Club. Today we are about to see two Greek hardcore-punk bands sharing the stage with two top hardcore-punk names from the U.S.A. Terror from Los Angeles and Madball from New York City!!

\r\n
\r\nThe time was around 21.00 when the most of the people were inside and -Overpain- from Thessaloniki showed up to set a start for this great night!
\r\n
\r\n
\r\n
\r\n-Overpain- quickly showed their power with great Hardcore-Punk riffs, nice bass, great Hardcore drumming and a very powerful and angry vocalist!! The band played many songs without having any serious problem. The sound was not so good at the start but after a few songs the sound was better. -Overpain- played many of their songs like: Make It Count, Break Through, Last War, Represent, Code Of Honor and Inner Strength.

\r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe club was half full when the band started their setlist but more people kept entering the club and by the end of their setlist Sfentona club was almost full.
\r\n
\r\n-Overpain- completed a  nice concert with great performance and managed to show to the people what they are made of. Too bad that the audience was not so warm and only few showed their support and their love by moshing in the front.
\r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\nThe second band didn’t took a long to show up. -Senseless-, also from Thessaloniki, are well known after having many live concerts with some very good bands. For one more time the band started to play with great easiness and to perform some new songs.
\r\n
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe sound was not so good but they didn’t give a fuck at all. The continued their setlist, playing some of their songs, like: Dedicated, Pay No Respect, Another Victim On The Last Break Down and Never Forgive Never Forget,  but they played also two nice covers. One  was Agnostic Front’s - Something’s  gotta give and the other was - The King is Dead from Hoods.\r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\n-Senseless- finished their setlist with people now seemed much more  warmer and ready for the -Terror- experience. Although the band gave their best, people preferred to stand and watch and only few tried to start moshpits.

\r\n

\r\n
\r\n
\r\nI was wondering what kind of Hardcore Punk live is this without moshpits and stagedivers but the truth is most of the people saw these Greek bands for their first time and this was  expectable. And besides that,  -Terror- came to prove me wrong.
\r\n

\r\n

\r\n

\r\n \r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\nThe band walked on stage and immediately the fans started to gather at the front. The first Terror-sound hit the club and suddenly everybody got insane!! -Terror- started their setlist with the Out Of My Face -track and the fans loved it!! People started stagedivings and a huge moshpit was created by the hardcore fans,  that even Freddy from Madball was staring and smiling. Scott was screaming his throat off and proved for one more time that he is a great frontman.
\r\n
\r\n \r\n

\r\n

\r\n\r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe party kept going and Terror played many songs like: One With The Underdogs, Overcome, Last Of The Diehards, Betrayer,  Lowest Of The Low, Never Alone,  Push It Away,  Spit My Rage and many more.  -Terror- completed their setlist without any problem. The band played all the setlist with nice sound and great performance from all the members. They finished a great hardcore-punk show with a lot of injured people from the wild moshpits and the stagedivings. All of them had a big smile except one guy that was carried out to receive first aid. A great  hardcore-punk live but all good things have an end. Besides, the next band is -Madball- and everybody knows that this hardcore-punk party will continue. -Terror- left the stage with people screaming, yelling and counting the hits and the bruises.

\r\n
\r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\n
\r\nSome minutes after -Terror-, -Madball- walked on stage and the party continued!! Freddy said the classical: - We are -Madball- from New York, and the band started playing the -Demonstrating My Style - song. People  was warm enough from the previous band and so the moshpits and the stagedivings continued. Only now even -Terror- was stagediving and singing on stage with -Madball-!!\r\n

\r\n

\r\n \r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\nThe New York hardcore-punk band continued playing songs like: We The People, Can’ t Stop Won’ t Stop, Hold It Down, Legacy, Look My Way, Get Out, Lockdown, Set It Off, Down By Law, Infiltrate The System, Heavenhell, It’ s My Life, Hardcore Still Lives and
\r\nNew York City. They had some guitar problems for some minutes but the problem was soon fixed. -Madball- left the stage and returned for their encore that included: 100%,
\r\nFor My Enemies, Hardcore Pride and for the end they played the -Pride- track.\r\n

\r\n

\r\n \r\n

\r\n

\r\n
\r\n
\r\n-Madball- managed to complete their setlist with no big problems. The fans loved every minute of it and all the kids that saw for the very first time this band understood why these guys are one of the top bands in the Hardcore-Punk scene. Is it the energy of the riffs, the hardcore beat or Freddy that does this from his early years with great passion? All together were perfectly combined and we all experienced a nice show.

\r\n

\r\n
\r\nFinally, this night was exactly as the most of us expected.  A real crazy show,   with a lot of injured people with blood on their teeth and broken ribs. A great  Hardcore-Punk show from all the bands. The only bad thing was the day that was Sunday and we all know that is a difficult day. Also the ticket was enough expensive for Hardcore-Punk bands that should play for free in squares and was a problem for many kids that didn’t have the money to pay for this.
