DARK TRANQUILITY ANDERS IWERS COMMENTS ON THE SEPARATION
Ex-bassist Anders Iwers commented on his Facebook page on Monday evening about the reasons for his departure. He stresses that he has not been released. He was very connected to the band and said that he had a process of reflection on his life during the corona pandemic.
He no longer feels that urge for the band. When looking at the next tour plan, he was above all disappointed with the time he would be separated from his family, so that the decision was an easy one for him, although he still appreciates the separation from the band, which he still values very much. regrets.
Original post from August 15, 2021:
DARK TRANQUILITY announce that founding member Anders Jivarp (drums) and Anders Iwers, who has been active on bass since 2016, are leaving the band.
The band writes about this on social media: “Times have really changed. The past year and a half has been challenging to say the least, and we've all had time to rethink our choices and motivations in all areas of life. When you break away from what you take for granted, you begin to realize what is really important in life. And it's different for everyone. Anders Jivarp and Anders Iwers have decided to turn to other things and no longer be part of the band. They are two of the most amazing, loyal, and dedicated friends and musicians anyone could ever find, and as sad as we are to see them go, we know that if it takes you anywhere else, follow your passion.
Anders Jivarp was of course there from the start and made a significant contribution to creating the sound that eventually became our own. His songs are some of our most popular and with the exception of one crazy night in Istanbul 20 years ago, he has played every single show since the band was founded. We are excited to see what will emerge from Anders ‘future musical projects. Anders Iwers has been with us for six years, but since we've known each other since the band's early days, it feels like he's always been with us. He played on our last two records, not to mention he's a staple on our live shows. We love you so much and wish you the very best in everything you do.
Both recently played on the current album "Moment".
