SINISTER - The Silent Howling

SINISTER - The Silent Howling

Silent howling my ass!  That’s a way too much introvert way to describe the music and the energy that this album provides... Yes I’ve liked Sinister so far but ladies and gentlemen, this 8th album is something else. And it seriously made me spill my coffee. Many things are going on in this album. First of all the band has a brand new label, which is Massacre Records. It also has new members on the rhythm "killing machine" section as the drummer Aad Kloosterwaard had switched to vocals and bassist Alex Paul switched from bass to guitars. And that’s a change that you can’t avoid noticing from the first seconds of this album. Diabolic blasting speed on drums, twisted aggressive guitars, nice riffs and yes...Sinister sound like nowadays bands in the death metal industry. Of course they still keep their old school feeling and raw aura that defines their previews releases but here they sound more aggressive than ever and the production made in Soundlodge Studios in Germany, surely adds a lot to that. If you noticed a revived band and some slight changes with their 2006 album "Afterburner", then you can be sure that with "Silent Howling" all these are perfection. Longer, more inspired and experimental compositions make a captivating and destructive album in which you can invest without any doubt! If a totally personal opinion is accepted, I should say that «Silent Howling» is the best death metal album that I can put right next to Behemoth’s latest releases and I hope this rings some bells for you.
