\r\nTwo years after the release of “Kvass”, the Norwegian folklore / black metal outfit has returned with their 4th full length release. Folkore Black metal is a genre that has been through many troubles many times, but with bands like Kampfar always gets over these problems.
\r\nThe new effort by the Norwegians is entitled “Heimgang” and has been produced and recorded in Norway, another characteristic element of the band is the lyrics that once again is on Norwegian. For the fans and followers of the band the new album would be very easy to imagine how it would be sound. It may not be equal to the abysmal “Mellom Skogkledde Aaser”, but is a very good continuing to the previous opus “Kvass”. I do believe that from “Kvass” Album and on the band gave a little more room to the folklore elements, which already had from the very beginning, back in 1995
\r\nListening to these ten tracks someone realizes the great mix of Dolk’s (Vocals) black metal roots and Thomas’ (Guitars) folklore music education once again. The passing from Folkish parts to more black metal parts is very easy thing for Kampfar
\r\nI personally believe that the whole musical history of the band proves that Kampfar is a band that treats their fans very honestly and that’s the reason that their fans have this band on a very high level of admiration. All fans of Kampfar will surely enjoy and understand this album.
