Destruction - D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.ON.
\r\n25 years have already past for the veteran thrashers Destruction, who strike back with a new "in-your-face" album.Despite the fact that the band carries a quarter of a century in its back, the only word that you can’t use to describe it, is "tired". What else could anybody expect from Schmier’s gang, but a pure old school thrash release? On the other hand, modern production (made by Jacob Hansen) carries them to the present and make them sound as fresh(??) as a newbie band!! Taking each track under a closer look, we find the opening title "Devolution", beginning with acoustic guitars and becoming a typical thrash metal song which also bring memories of Slayer’s glorious past, among others. Second in the row a fast dynamite called "Elevator to Hell", which name says everything! Next to it, stands "Vicious Circle", which starts with a slow riff and continues with a chorus straight from hell. Multiple simultanius vocal lines, haunts one’s brain and make this one, to distinguish, so far. "Offenders of the Throne" is a slower tempo full of anger track, which brings us to "Last Desperate Scream" starting with a great riff and an continuing with an even greater chorus. Moving forward to "Urge (the Greed of Gain)" we find a "retro" thrash composition, with one of the most catchy choruses in the whole album. The bands slows down again and "The Violation Of Morality" makes the band seem more mature than ever. Great ideas with technical extensions and another chorus that you will remember. The slow and angry "Inner Indulgence", with its stacato riffing, is the most straight Heavy Metal track of the album. Reaching before the end, "Odyssey Of Frustration" starting with guitar solos, speeds up again and leads to the conclusion and outro song, "No One Shall Survive". This last one, is also a technical one, with Shmier’s screamin vocals dominating and releasing anger in the air. To sum things up,we could tell that Destruction have managed to compine speed, melody and anger in this one. These elements filtered with such a production, could guarantee a great release, having its roots on the band’s history but moving towards the future.\r\n
