Warrior Path - Warrior Path
One of the most pleasant surprises of 2019
2019 is about to end and I have the urge to write my last review of one of my favourite releases. After talking to Andreas Sinanoglou, the founder of WARRIOR PATH the words of Carlos Castaneda came to my mind - "to be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It's rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives". Well in the case of WARRIOR PATH this is totally true since this self-taught guitarist came out of the blue, armed with killer music to blow our minds. Hatching this lifetime project (ever since he was eighteen years old) he finally joined forces with Yannis Papadopoulos (BEAST IN BLACK) on vocals, Bob Katsionis (FIREWIND) on guitars & keys who also produced the album and his longtime friend Dave Rundle on drums. This record is full of highlights starting with the opening epic +7 minute long track "Riders Of The Dragons" which signals that the battle has just begun. The second track of the album "The Hunter" is a riot of emotions with its smoking guitars and excellent performances. The "Mighty Pirates" track caused me shivers and made me wanna shout "All hands hoay” like an old salt (lol). Another great moment is "The Path Of The Warrior" with its slower and melodic parts here and there ready to whip up your senses. During this musical journey, there are times that you think you've lost your way but in the end, Valhalla is waiting. No, I'm not mad or something. These are the opening lyrics of the last track of this album "Valhalla I'm Coming" a touching ballad, accompanied by the magnificent sound of Hristos-Valentinos Pevetis' violin. Killer performances, high-skilled guitars, catchy riffs and above all a classic vibe that will be much appreciated. Look at this path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself alone, one question . . . Does this path have a heart? If it does then it's a WARRIOR PATH.
