The 11th Hour - Burden of Grief

The 11th Hour - Burden of Grief

The 11th Hour is a Dutch / Swedish two piece outfit from the well - know metal musicians Ed Warby (Gorefest, Hail of Bullets, Ayreon) and Rogga Johansson (Edge of Sanity, Demiurg, Paganizer, Ribspreader) that despite their musical identity that deals with the more extreme metal scene, they decided to join forces to release a doom metal outfit.
\r\nSo Ed wrote the whole music and played all the instruments on the album, doing also about the half of the vocals and Rogga made the remaining vocals. The album features both “clean” and “Brutal” vocals, the music is of course mid – tempo with an abysmal guitar sound straight from Sweden and bands as Edge of Sanity, Entombed, Candlemass, Isole, Krux etc.
\r\nThe musical Identity of The 11th hour is somewhere between epic doom metal and bands like Krux, Doomshine, Candlemass ans due too the “brutal” vocals in specific parts sound close to funeral doom bands for instance Esoteric
\r\nIn General “Burden Of Grief” is a pretty well structured release with a great production and mix by Ronnie Björnström of Audio Enhanced Productions, a fact the caused the album to sound really heavy. I personally recommend this release to the fans of Candlemass, Isole, Krux, Doomshine, Officium Triste etc.
