81 DB - Evaluation

\r\nA new band from Italy and a new hope for the Italian scene and not only for it. 81DB is one of the bands who cannot be labeled, as it’s hard and unfair for this band, since they have many influances, while different hearings dominate. Before we speak for this demo, we should say that one member of the band (and one of the main members) is Greek and his name is Kostas. The rest members of the band are from Italy."Evaluation" is a Promo-EP, which can be a job which gives us an idea about 81DB. It’s about something very characteristic and I want to believe that their next albums will be in the same style as well. What we hear are 4 songs, which are extremely melodic and "catchy" and they have a greek mentality in each note, due to Kostas. Is characteristic that sometimes we also hear bouzouki. There are many times where the band try to play like System Of A Down, something that I didn’t like, as to my point of view, there are few bands (or even no band at all) who can play music in the style of SOAD and be also worthmentioned. Apart from this, we have a band with apettite for what it does, a united band which has found its sound, and it would be better if next time they do something more profesional. In these 4 songs we can distinguish something modern, which sometimes derives from the Nu Metal scene and other times from more Alternative Rock hearings. These 4 songs, however, are melodic, rythmical and reveals that if 81DB work a little bit more, they will do a very good job. I will wait their next release and the reason I rate it 70% is for their next album be better and the rate higher! Have a nice trip...\r\n
