Alestorm - Black Sails At Midnight

Alestorm - Black Sails At Midnight

The Scottish pirate ship of Alestorm is is setting sails for the second time. After their first full length release in 2008 (Captain Morgan’s Revenge) the Scottish outfit is about to release their second album entitled “Black Sails At Midnight” once again via Napalm Records. This time the compositions sound improved since their first album and they also have Gareth "Gazz" Murdock the bassist of Waylander in crew
\r\nAlestorm like their first album they providing us a nice mix of Running Wild with a more folklore approach , close to Skyclad’s  sound with some soundtrack alike elements ( they use the main theme from “ Pirates Of  The Caribbean”) and there has been also some parts that reminded me of Kreator riffing school!!! Once again the choruses with multiple vocal lines characterize the album, the melodic lines are all over the album, as well as the band’s pirate lyrical themes, but this time their riffs sound much improved and more solid than “Captain Morgan’s Revenge”
\r\nI strongly believe that there is no use for further reviewing, so be patient ‘til the 1st of June when the album will be released officially in Greece, so then you can grab a cold pint of ale and enjoy the album, which will be released also on a dig pack special edition cd with bonus dvd containing the bands appearance in Wacken 2008.
