Blood Freak - Mindscraper

 Hell, this cover reminded me of other times! Gorerotted, Iron Monkey, Agoraphobic Nosebleed and all that kind of rotten minded people. Now that I mentioned it, the music ain’t that far off. Although the description "technical death metal" on the press sheet is misleading to the bone(yeah, it was a joke!) the content shows its teeth from the begining.

\r\n After a deliberately lame intro that lasted more than it should have, the mayhem kicks in. Raw death metal with a punk-ish attitude that will bring Exhumed to your mind, even old Carcass to pure grindcore. The blastbeats will lead you to a stroke, the riffs reek of cryptic stench(not the song damn it!) and the vocalist will fill your mouth and ears with his fresh puke. Ok, this is purely a matter of taste no matter what I may write. Bloodfreak play with a romantic mood for gore and gory metal. They have this teenage punk feeling on their songs, that makes you take your hat off. Brutal and "dancy" at the same time, it could be an ideal soundtrack to an independed slasher film.

\r\n The album is entitled "Mindscraper", a title utterly depicting the themes of the songs written by these Oregon based lunatics. Examples: We Kill Cause We Care, Gobble Up Your Guts, Sex Trash Princess. Yeah, it’s clear enough. Gory death metal, the early 90’s way for those who love it and can take it. Listen to it and realise there hasn’t been a day ever since!
