Bloodjinn - This Machine Runs On Empty
It’s a fact that Metalcore is a replete genre. So if a band wants to stand out in this genre it has to be at least worth while. Bloodjinn seem to have something to say but personally I feel they need more work since their latest effort is kind of indifferent to me. Their music can be characterized as typical Metalcore but with several Progressive elements. So when I say that Bloodjinn can make a difference it’s because of that. It is rather rare to see a metalcore band to include Progressive elements in their music. This Machine Runs On Empty is the debut album of the band which is the second reason why the listener should be clement with them. In the 10 tracks of the album we find high speeds intense influences from the American Metalcore scene a few melodies here and there, very few rhythmic parts which can attract your attention. Vocals are the strongest feature of the band which is a must within the genre. What I didn’t like is the fact the band goes further than it should and puts needing less things in the music which makes them tiring. This Machine Runs On Empty is a sign the band has what it takes to write good music, better than what we listen in this album, so long as they work harder and they use the necessary Progressive strokes but not to create chaos. However since it is their debut album their rating is above the base…
