The Cold Existence - Sombre Gates

The Cold Existence - Sombre Gates

It’s hard nowadays to find a black/death band in which you won’t hear all those tunes you’ve heard before..When I started listening this album,as long the introduction was playing, I was looking at the cover nad I was thinking that the guys must have worked really hard on their music. Or else they would have given all their money on the artwork.

\r\nLuckilly, ’’Sombre Gates’’ is a really nice effort where you can clearly see the influences of Arch Enemy and At The Gates. So we’re talkin’ for a totally Swedish style with clever ideas. The guys have also achieved to create their own sound. Keep in mind that it’s not the easiest thing to do on your debut album.. Well if their sound wasn’t enough, the band wouldn’t have cooperated with Andy La Rockue, who happens to be known to all of us..
\r\n
\r\nIn general, even if you don’t get excited from the first tunes, the more you hear to the album, the more you want to bang your head. The only thing that you would say is a minus is that the whole album is not that bonded and that the drummer is kind of tiring.. Except these two things, I can say that there are also excellent songs in this album.
\r\n
\r\nSongs like ’’Corruption’’ and ’’Crawling’’ will make you wanna mosh-pit from the first riff. So ’’Cold Existence’’ are a band with prespectives for sure and their album ’’Sombre Gates’’ is the best way to introduce themselves. So for those that happens to litsen to Nile, At The Gates, Behemoth, Hypocrisy and Arch Enemy they should also add Cold Existence to their music collection..
