Crescent Shield - The Stars of Never Seen

\r\nI am truly starting to believe that Cruz Del Sur records is labeling everybody under the trash genre. What can I say…? It must be a disease. Crescent Shield is an American power metal band. They have nothing to do with thrash or progressive metal as you can read at their MySpace.
\r\nThey are the side project of Micheal Grant of Onward and Dan Delucie of Destiny’s End. It’s obvious that they are influenced by bands like Sanctuary, Nevermore, Iron Maiden, Queensryche and of course Destiny’s End. They reminded me a little of Slough Feg too. ‘’The Stars of Never Seen’’ is their second release and to be honest is better than I thought. You won’t have this opinion from the first listen. The album grows on you with multiple listens and it’s a pretty safe buy for the fans of the genre. It has a cult feeling all around it. It tries to be epic and ultimately leaves you with a strange desire to listen it again. From the other hand you won’t get exactly excited with it, but no hard feelings. The soul I’m expecting from such releases is there. Michael Grant’s vocals could be better at the range aspect. I’ve just imagined this release with Rivera’s voice…\r\n
