DIMANSION - Room One

Dimansion is another female fronted band who is serving the so called atmospheric gothic metal. The band is around from 2006 and besides a promo CD they have recorded previously (including “Come cover me” a Nightwish cover and a composition of their own called “Inner Hopes”) “Room one” is their first full length album. With obvious influences from bands like Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica and the like, they deliver a melodic gothic metal album, something “unusual” for a Greek band to play that genre.
\r\nTheir compositions are not bad but they don’t really make a difference. I mean there are some good ideas but they are buried under the awful production that really sucks!(the usual curse of every Greek band). What grabbed my attention was the voice of the soprano Chrissa Sidiropoulou which sounds great in moments and looks like she has done a very good job on the vocal parts.
\r\nGenerally I think that the band is doomed by the production and I hope their next album to be their stepping stone.
