Ghost Brigade - Until Fear No Longer Defines Us

Ghost Brigade - Until Fear No Longer Defines Us

\r\nGhost Brigade have been unrightfuly ignored by the greek audience. Being aware of the impact bands like Katatonia have on the greek ears and souls it’s actually weird to see the beloved Finnish not getting the attention they deserve. But it’s like what I always say: just follow the press’s trends..Anyway, what does matter right now is that their third release is knocking our door and I gladly realize their creative mood is still at large.

\r\n Setting off with the acoustic "In The Woods", the journey unfolds slowly and sadisticaly. Their talent in composing songs that reek of feeling and moody mists is enormous. Slow, doom/post metal that is not afraid to show its more melodic side with melo vocals. Harsh screams balance the whole thing, the dosage is complete in all aspects. Their music is a mixture of slower Dark Tranquillity, Katatonia and very small shots of Neurosis, though I conclude to a personal sound in the end. What I live about’em is that they do not push themselves too hard. It comes out of them naturally, writing with the guiding light of raw emotion resulting in a very natural flow. The songs are memorable and although "Until Fear No Longer Defines Us" lasts long you will not hesitate to listen to it from the begining when the first hearing is over.

\r\n If I was to compare it with Ghost Brigade’s previous albums I’d probably call it a natural development within their limits although "Isolation Songs" is still my favourite one. This of course, means nothing negative about the new material. Time will tell eventually though I’m quite confident these songs will still be heard after many years to come. Surely one of the best albums of 2011 for me "Until Fear No Longer Defines Us" waits for you to discover if you haven’t done so already. Fans of heavy/melancholic tunes start looking for everything this band has released. Guaranteed quality. Also: the new cover art is SUPREME!\r\n
