Giant - Promise Land

Giant - Promise Land

\r\nThe Giant woke up and came back renewed and  reborn! After nine years of absence, he is back to teach a few things about hard rock to those who consider themselves experts .The  veterans David Huff and Μike Brignardello who are in fact the founding members of the band from  the early  years  after a long search for good musicians  they returned with an exciting new album. Behold Giant of 2010. I do not think that introductions for the new band members are necessary  since I think they are very well known  to those dealing with this kind of music, but because it is rude and disrespectful  not to say a few words for these great personas of hard rock and because there is always “new blood”, I think I’ll make an exception. So on vocals we have Terry Brock who replaces the equally excellent Dann Huff giving a new character to the band, this guy has been a member to also important bands  like Strangeways and Seventh Key (pretty cool band!) while on the guitars we’ve got  Winger’s guitarist(respect !!!!) John Roth. Therefore I do not think there is any doubt about what you will listen here .Strong and good melodic Hard Rock the way it was played in the early 90s. I will not comment on the songs simply because all of them are great. The album has 13 tracks where “Complicated Man” serves as a bonus track, available only in the first digipack eddition. There are no fillers here only killers. “Promise Land” is a diverse album it has enough groove and that old hard rocking feeling as well as some really melodic AOR elements that friends of the genre will love. Seems that Giant;s good old recipe is working just fine. Finally  I believe that Frontiers has made a good investment by signing this great band very popular back in the early 90’s. As for me I found in “Promise land” a very good company while I am waiting for the new Whitesnake  album.\r\n
