GLOOMY GRIM - Under the Spell of the Unlight

GLOOMY GRIM - Under the Spell of the Unlight

The Finish with their previous EP “Tapetum Lucidum” (2007) really gave us something to hope for, but with their new album “Under the Spell of the Unlight” leave us wondering “Why Gloomy Grim never got the popularity they deserved??”
\r\nTen years after their first album Gloomy Grim have returned with their Fifth full length release, in the same, gloomy, Blasphemous, and frost Black Metal. The album features twelve tracks (each one named after a month of the year)  of  freezing, Symphonic and “dramatised” black metal. I have the feeling that Gloomy Grim is a well known band in Greece, due too the co operation with the label “Holy Records”, a co operation that stopped about four years before… But let’s talk about the album.
\r\nAs I Previously quoted, “Under the Spell of the Unlight” features twelve tracks, with very intensive the theatrical element, the un earthly melodies, the lunatic intros and of course the symphonic elements and the piano that exist only for filling their great black metal sound. This album is a recommendation to all of (newer) Dimmu Borgir fans, to compare the symphonic black metal of Gloomy Grim, with the Dimmu Borgir one.
\r\nThe only thing for sure is that after four years of frozen silence Gloomy Grim has returned armed with much more hatred than ever, and this fact will sound great to all the older fans of the black metal scene.
