Heorot - Ragnarok

Heorot - Ragnarok

\r\nWhen the CD’s from Stygian Crypt came to my hands, I had to make a first choice and I left the specific album for last, because from the album artwork it seemed to be children’s and concluded in hurry that also the music won’t be something appreciable. So much mistaken I was. With the first notes of the introduction I realized that Ragnarok won’t be just another one Folk/Viking album of the pile and when I heard the first song “Rιstιretki” I was sure that the album that I was holding in my hands is a top disc (or even better) like those which were released from “great” bands in 2007. The sound is familiar, folk instruments with flute in first place, without sound “strange”, but in the whole very good production, it helps to the recognition of the tracks. The rhythms vary from mid-tempo to fast blast beats. Imposing compositions and incredible atmosphere during the whole album. All of the instruments are completely related to each other, vocals are awesome and of course…the lyrics are in Finish language. Truly, I can’t imagine these songs in another language. Folk and epic atmosphere in 9 pagan and war hymns. Don’t judge the album from it’s artwork….just listen to it immediately… \r\n
