Klimt 1918 - In case we'll never meet again (Soundtrack for the cassette generation)

I mentioned Klimt1918 in a review of another Italian band, some months ago.. Their new release is in the stores for a while now and I feel glad I m about to write about a band I really appreciate! “Just in case we’ll never meet again” it’s title, or “Soundtrack for the cassette generation” for those who prefer this one and the truth is they had my attention since the announcement in their site about their new release, making me can’t wait for this.. For those who are not familiar with these Italian guys, Klimt started by playing something, let’s say, close to atmospheric/depressing rock, having their metal roots obvious though! “Undressed Momento” was an amazing work but in their next one they seemed pretty confused about which side they wanted to be to and, even if the reviews where extremely good at sometimes, I wasn’t pleased with what they had out there.. I was hoping that they would be able to regain their identity, or at least build a new one, built at least in strong foundation and this exact release comes to prove that my hopes had a base, by being close to what I have been expecting!

The truth is that the CD doesn’t have any standing out moment… But there aren’t any that could be judged as bad ones! Since the second –or third- listening to the material I knew that “Soundtrack for the cassette generation” (oh dear God, I love this title) would become a perfect soundtrack for an endless journey with a car, on one of these routes that are not supposed to have a destination. Either you wander through dreamy landscapes or concrete highways, there’s only you and the music left… By listening to music while driving I’ve been pretty attached to bands that I count my relationship in those that they offered me in such moments; everybody asks from music things they are in need of, and when the circumstances are the appropriate ones, this exact band will be one of those that had it’s role in your becoming who you finally are as a person..  IN CASE WE ‘LL never MEET AGAIN.. It’s the closest way to describe how the title is actually written on the cover,  how “never” is written, if you can see the true meaning in words you will realize.. What you ask for is so simple at times, you wouldn’t want anything more than ideas, colors, words to get you interested so that you hope that you listen to music with something to offer to you.. Klimt1918 manage to give substance to such a (bitter)sweet approach of the contemporary atmospheric sound that I can do no more but promise them that even if (until they prove me wrong!) “Undressed Momento” will be my favorite of their releases, I will always gonna be there, hoping at the beginning and let them have my congrats for releases when they deserve them, like this last one!
