PREJUDICE REBORN - Weak
PREJUDICE REBORN - Weak
"Weak" is the first attempt of Greek, "Prejudice Reborn" to record a complete demo release. Their c.v. includes some appearances such as in a tribute concert for Metallica’s local fun club, a cover for a tribute cd about KISS and their participation at the battle of the bands, where they get to the semi finals. The style of this band is consisted mostly of Metallica’s musical approach , sometimes more aggressive and sometimes softer. This demo is based mostly on the guitar riffs and some good vocal lines. Even if you can’t find anything innovative here, we can admit that the band supports its compositions, in their best possible way. "Weak" begins with the self title aggressive thrashy song, where some brutal vocals made their appearance, spoiling the whole effort, as they are out of mood and too loud in the final mix. "Feel Like" starts with a heavy riff, of the ones that you have heard at least 1.000.000 times and slows down, leaving acoustic guitars take the lead. A good song indeed, with the band using some stacato riffing as its conclusion. Last band’s composition (the cd’s last is a cover) is a track that brings in mind Diamond Head, or Metallica covering them, called S3. Heavy guitars and a try to sound more progressive, but without managing to do so. Last track is KISS’ cover on "Calling Dr Love", which in my opinion is the worst moment of the cd, especially as coming to the side of vocal performance. The total performance in this demo is mediocre, with the guitars and the drums to struggle find the tempo at times, while the overall sounding is bad. It seems like they have recorded in their Pc using a soundcard, but it’s a demo after all and if you stick just to the compositions, you can’t say that is a bad effort. To sum things up, I believe that "Prejudice Reborn" have the foundations to improve through practise. In my opinion they must not hurry to record their ideas, before they feel ready to do so and next time to choose workig with a professional producer, in order to have the best result. If they do so, the future will shine bright on them, especially as soon as they think of what they want to do and find their own music identity. Finally I would like mention the very good package and artwork included with this demo.
