Root - The Temple in the Underworld

Root - The Temple in the Underworld

The Fourth in a row rerelease of ROOT by I Hate records is their third album, “The Temple Of The Underworld”. Until now I hate records, has re-released the following albums of Root: Zjevení / The Revelation (1990), “Hell Symphony” (1991) and “The Book” (1999).
\r\n“The Temple Of The Underworld”, at first has been released in 1992 via the label “monitor”, and this is the point in Root’s career that leave behind the classic early black metal sound ala Venom and give weight into their polyphonic parts and the more “ritualistic” approach of their compositions, something that became more audible on their later releases
\r\nFor sure on this album you are about to listen to some parts that later became trade mark of the north European extreme scene, like black metal chords and many more. I am convinced that Root and their co – patriots Master’s Hammer are two of the bands that really have influenced the whole black metal scene at it’s beginning.
\r\nOn the album someone can listen to brutal and clean vocals, atmospheric, ritualistic melodies, polyphonic vocals, for example the track “Aposiopesis” is a track that reminds me of the later Edge of Sanity music and all these elements bound together with this grim, obscure and ritualistic atmosphere …and made in 1992!!!
\r\nI have the impression that “The Temple Of The Underworld” is one of the best albums by these Czechs and of course a listening experience!
