Saxon - Into The Labyrinth

Saxon - Into The Labyrinth

Well, it seems that some values stand the test of time. When it comes to Saxon no introductions are necessary. Saxon are of that kind of bands that always release high standard albums, something extremely difficult and rare for a band that serves the metal scene for almost 25 years, a large number of studio and live albums are there to prove that true.
\r\nThose who are familiar with Saxon know what to expect from their latest release “Into the labyrinth”. There’s no room for experimentation. There are no progressive elements or something unusual. Saxon do what they know best, they deliver true and pure heavy metal.
\r\nThis, of course, doesn’t mean that the compositions are average and boring, not in any case. On the contrary, they vary from classic hard rock to speed power metal (something that Saxon had introduced on their previous releases too). Here we can enjoy mid-tempo songs, ballad-like compositions and speedy Heavy Metal Thunders with epic choruses and powerful vocal lines from Biff’s well known commanding voice. Biff once more shows the range of his voice by singing in various styles from Rock ‘n’ Roll-like songs to soaring power rhythms. The music itself is classic Saxon, beautiful melodies, razor sharp riffs (some of them have an AC/DC essence) and a thundering rhythm section to back them up.
\r\nThis album, although it sounds as a classic Saxon, it has a modern feeling (they never tried to revive the old days anyway). We will not try to compare this album with their previous releases, there’s no point in doing so, as their every release stands out.
\r\nLet’s get this straight. Saxon is the living proof that some musicians out there are not lacking inspiration and are not threatened by anyone. No matter the passing years and the complexity of today’s music. They are proudly defying all that stands in their way. Even time itself.
\r\nThe Eagle has landed…again!
