SISTER SIN - Switchblade serenades
SISTER SIN - Switchblade serenades
\r\nIf you’d tried to tell to someone 15 years ago that Sweden in the future would be one of the biggest powers in heavy metal he would probably think you were crazy. No one would ever believe that this country would grow strong not only on melodic death metal (for which it was well known) but on hard rock and classic metal as well. Sister Sin come from Sweden and blow our brains out! With their debut album “Switchblade serenades” they deliver classic Heavy metal the way it should be played. Without airs and graces, without long lasting solos and plastic melodies. Heavy metal never needed all these anyway, its power never came from excellent guitar technique or overwhelmed compositions, but from the heart and soul of the musician-fan. Sister sin seem to realize that, so they are not trying to impress us by playing something new. What they do is just playing the music that they like and they deliver 11 songs of pure heavy metal. 11 songs that, to be honest, are hard to find nowadays even from the Gods of the past, not to mention the most releases of our time. I am really disappointed to realize that songs like τα “One out of ten”, ”On parole”, “Beat the street” and the title track are really rare to find nowadays. On the other hand I am glad that groups like Sister Sin are still around to remind to all of us how Heavy metal should be played. What if Liv’s voice resembles that of Doro’s in a more passionate way? What if the songs remind you bands like Warlock, W.A.S.P., Accept, Skid Row even Motley Crue in their glorious days. Sister Sin are not here to reinvent the wheel. Though they are Swedish their sound has that American street feeling that most hard rock bands had back in the day, that dirty sound that really misses from the scene. Here we have everything a respected Heavy metal band should have, ripping guitars, killing rhythm section and Liv’s vocals got so much nerve and passion that though female beat the hell out of most of the modern wannabe metal singers.
\r\nSo do yourself a favor and listen to “Switchblade Serenades”. As i mentioned before albums like this one are really rare.\r\n
