Vermingod - Promo 2011

\r\nNot long after the release of their debut album the guys from Patra/Greece loose no time and strike again with a fresh new work. Hell yes, new material that actually shows the band’s progress and a new face. A face that is a lot more complete and brutal. I could get happier!
\r\n
\r\n From now on Vermingod is purely a death metal act. Of modern aesthetics surely, but that does not mean they lack points in brutality, sickness or the right feeling. For those of you that haven’t listened to the band’s material before I’d descrive them as a mixture of As You Drown, a bit of Hour of Penance and slices of Whitechapel added on top. A huge advantage is Aris’s throat, an exceptionaly strong voice painted in a really harsh texture. This dude is one of the best growlers I happened to lay my ears uppon lately. Thick, strong and concrete! Musically, some of the influences the guys had before that ended in -core or thrash simply vanished. The vision is more clear now. Thei character is more built.
\r\n
\r\n In terms of musicianship, things got a few steps higher. There is more complex riffing and ideas of a more synthetic nature. I don’t want to take a shit on "The Grand March To Devastation"(on the contrary, I love that album), I just want to point out the level of improvement Vermingod reached with this EP. The four songs are a small dose of course, so we’re hoping for a full scale work to get a more accurate view. I’m not sure the guys released this on physical form yet but you’d better check it out! Vermingod is one the most promising new acts in my opinion. only waiting for a bigger label to unleash their music beast on larger masses.\r\n
