FIREWIND - Apollo Papathanasio

With the opportunity of Firewind’s live performance in\r\nAthens, as a part of the Forever Slave / Firewind / Kamelot European tour,\r\nTerry Nikas from Metalzone.gr interviewed the singer of the band, Apollo\r\nPapathanasio, which reveals many details from the Firewind camp. Apollo\r\nwas unable to follow the band in some of their previous tour dates, so he’s\r\nexplaining the situation and reveals that he abandoned his job in order to\r\ndedicate himself 100% to Firewind. \r\n

\r\nHe talks about the recordings of the new album ‘The\r\nPremonition’ and he’s not afraid to admit that the band has even bigger\r\nexpectations, although their previous effort ‘Allegiance’ marked a big break\r\nthrough for them all over the world. He speaks about the past and the future\r\nplans of the band, and he’s giving us some inside information regarding the\r\nstrategy that they will follow. \r\n

\r\n

\r\nFinally, Apollo expresses his excitement regarding the\r\nforthcoming US tour with Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity and Divine\r\nHeresy, a tour that will be his first ever in that continent, and describes\r\nhow it occurred to cover the 80’s pop song ‘Maniac’, which caused some\r\ncontroversy to the very conservative fans, but was a beautiful surprise to the\r\nmajority. \r\n
