"If Darkness Had A Son" will be featured on Metallica’s 12th studio album, 72 Seasons, out on April 14 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with James Hetfield & Lars Ulrich and clocking in at over 77 minutes, the 12-track album is the band’s first full-length collection of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.
The band have launched the pre-order for the limited transparent yellow cassette edition of the album, which includes an 8-panel j-card with lyrics.
For the first time in more than 23 years, Megadeth alumni Marty Friedman joined Megadeth on stage as the special guest for a one-off global livestream from the legendary Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Friedman joined the for three songs, "Countdown To Extinction", "Tornado Of Souls" and "Symphony Of Destruction".
A new animated video from Tankard, created for the song "Beerbarians", recently celebrated its world premiere via the Sydney-Melbourne Science Fiction Film Festival.
The “Beerbarians” video was created by the famous film school, RMIT University from Melbroune, Australia (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology).

During a September 2022 interview on Detroit radio station WRIF's Meltdown program, Megadeth frontman / founder Dave Mustaine revealed the band had recorded a Judas Priest cover for an upcoming Amazon project.
He later revealed on BBC's The Rock Show With Johnnie Walker, for the program's Rock God segment, the Judas Priest song in question was "Delivering The Goods" from the Killing Machine / Hell Bent For Leather album, released in 1978.
For this year's run of the 70000 Tons Of Metal Cruise, German thrash legends Kreator prepared a very special setlist for their January 30th appearance. It featured songs taken from '85 - '90 only. Check out fan-filmed video of the entire show below.

Just before Christmas in 2020, legendary Canadian thrash metal quartet, Sacrifice, began streaming the demo version of a brand new song, "World War V". Shorty after, the band took the rough version of "World War V" offline and replaced it with a new, better mix.
