The Autumn Offering - The Autumn Offering
\r\nFor ten years I’ve been missing these guys. I had heard the band’s name but I never laid my ears on their tunes until this promo came to my hands. The fact they are americans with the name "The Autumn Offering" perhaps is foretelling of what I may find within this cd.
\r\n
\r\n So, I find it boring to keep mentioning the whole sound/production factor since the last few years it’s almost impossible to find a release sounding bad. This one, being no exception, manages to impress the listener with its massive, clear sound from the very first minute. The Autumn Offering play modern death metal whith quite a few melodies and metalcore spots. Their bursts are good, they do not hesitate to blast things up with speed and a vocalist with an excellent voice, strong enough to cast a bear away. The sparce melodic leads give idenity to this creation and utterly form a variable result. What did bother me was some melodic choruses that truly disorient the listener in my opinion..
\r\n
\r\n Not being annoying or gay friendly, I just think they spoil the good looks of brutal band’s character. When you’re harsh enough, surely not as brutal as Disgorge for example, and you have what it takes there is no need to put choruses in order to be up to date..I’d call it strange, the least to say. But it’s just a matter of opinion after all. The fact here is these guys put on an effort to actually write songs and they did quite good! The guitars are essential and with the right dose of melody. No gay friendly moments or ball busting stuff.
\r\n
\r\n The unfortunate news is that they disbanded about 2 months ago, right after the release of the self-titled album so the future seems....dead! Do take the time to listen to this no matter what and you won’t be disappointed.\r\n
