Another Life - Memories from Nothing

\r\nAnother life is a one man band behind which is the guitarist Andreas Karlsson (RIBSPREADER, PAGANIZER), as well as the very well known Mr. Dan Swano who is behind the keyboards and the production of the album and has done a really good work in both sections. Debut album for Another Life, and there is a lot of melody, power rhythms and musical forms with prog extensions. The songs in general are beautiful, with a melancholic feeling and a “journey” sense. All good so far. However what kinda bothered me from the beginning of the album was the flat vocals. It is a spot that needs further work because it spoils the total picture of the album, while it comes in contrast to the rest of it which is well-processed. To some degree it is justified on one hand as Karlsson is a guitarist and not a singer, yet, on the other hand, provided that he decided to attempt it, he has to work on it a bit more. Τhe listener must exclude this part and accept this colorless performing way. Then, yes this is a pretty good album.\r\n
