ARTHEMIS - Heroes

ARTHEMIS - Heroes

From the neighbouring Italy hail Arthemis and thogh they are serving the scene since 1994, having released 5 albums so far, I’ve never heard of them. “Heroes” is their 6th album so far ( they have already released “Church Of Holy Ghost”-1999, “The Damned Ship”-2001, “Golden Dawn”-2003, “Back From The Heart”-2005 and  “Black Society”-2008). Music wise Arthemis are into heavy/power metal given through a more modern sound. The 10 compositions of “Heroes” offer what we call melodic heavy metal while their sound brought to my mind bands like Symphorce (with Fabio’s vocals resembling these of Andy B Frank’s in a way) and Firewind as well, especially on their more melodic parts. As for the compositions themselves, I can’t say that I was impressed by the result but I have to give them a credit for their amazing choruses, they sound quite impressive as well as the solos since melody seems to be the basis for each song.
\r\nVery impressive work on the cover artwork of the album that looks like comic book picturing the members of the band posing as superheroes.
\r\nTo conclude, I wouldn’t say that this one is a must buy album, in fact is not even close to be characterized as such, but if you like a more modern version of heavy metal you’ll have a good time listening to this.
