\r\nSigh is a Japanese extreme metal band led by bassist/vocalist/keyboardist Mirai Kawashima, formed in 1989, with the lineup rounded out by Satoshi Fujinami on guitar and Kazuki on drums. From straight ahead black metal inspired by the raw ’80s thrash metal of bands such as Venom, Celtic Frost, and Kreator, their sound has evolved into one of the genre’s most experimental and diverted, unconventional bands with varied styles such as black metal, 80s thrash heavy metal, classical music, jazz, 60s/70s rock. Each album has a unique sound, and their latest follows the same pattern. The compositions are full of various, diverted elements from blackened thrash metal to symphonic and an almost psychedelic metal sound while always retaining the band’s tag, their Celtic Frost/Mercyful Fate influences. The CD is broken down into three Acts with killer thrash riffs, brutal blast beats, venomous vocals, triumphant choirs, chants and keyboard orchestrations melding classic hard rock, thrash metal, black metal and traditional heavy metal. The vocals on the album are once again harsh and vicious after the strictly clean dimentia on 2005’s "Gallows Gallery" and they really make a breathtaking stand on this album. Overall this effort is perfectly established in terms of the intelligent use of symphonies to the prominent guitar work and the highly powerful drumming. A great work from a cult band that knows really effectively to cross the boundaries and always stay true and original. \r\n
