NILE MASTERMIND KARL SANDERS SIGNS WITH NAPALM RECORDS FOR 'SAURIAN' SOLO PROJECT

Karl Sanders, the driving force behind South Carolina's Egyptian-themed death metal titans NILE, has signed with Napalm Records for the release of the new album from his solo project.

Following the first two "Saurian" project albums — "Saurian Meditation" (2004) and "Saurian Exorcisms" (2009) — Karl is ready to unleash more musical musings from inside his eclectically influenced mind.

HYPOCRISY'S WORSHIP REACHES NEW HEIGHTS AS THE FIRST METAL ALBUM LAUNCHED INTO SPACE

On November 26, the newest addition to the Hypocrisy catalog, Worship, was released via Nuclear Blast Records. That evening, the band presented their fans with a special listening session that featured a video of vinyl being sent up to the stratosphere.

The journey was completed on a bespoke launch vehicle that carried and supported the record through the atmosphere.

Athenian metal band Daylight Misery, inspired from the loss of their dear friend Dimitris Theodoropoulos (member of the progressive metal band Rex Mundi from Thessaloniki) on May 31, 2021 from cancer, decided to write a song called “Cancerworm”, which is based on his story and everything he has been through over the last years of his life.

ATROCITY REVEAL DETAILS OF NEW EP, UNSPOKEN NAMES (DEMO 1991)

German death metal outfit Atrocity will release their new EP, Unspoken Names (Demo 1991), on January 7, 2022 via Massacre Records.

The four-track EP will contain demo versions of songs that were later featured on the band's successful album Todessehnsucht; three of them are previously unreleased.

CANNIBAL CORPSE FRONTMAN GEORGE "CORPSEGRINDER" FISHER TO RELEASE SELF-TITLED SOLO ALBUM IN FEBRUARY; VIDEO TEASER

On February 4, Cannibal Corpse vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher will release a solo album, titled Corpsegrinder. The 10-song effort is co-produced by Nick Bellmore (Dee Snider, Kingdom Of Sorrow) and Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed). The album features a guest appearance from Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) on the track "Acid Vat" and will be released through Jasta's new label, Perseverance Music Group.

OPETH PART WAYS WITH DRUMMER MARTIN "AXE" AXEROT; THERION'S SAMI KARPPINEN JOINS BAND FOR UPCOMING TOUR DATES

Sweden's iconic rock/metal titans, Opeth, have announced that "due to conflict of interests", they have parted ways with drummer Martin "Axe" Axerot.

His replacement for Opeth's upcoming tour with Mastodon will be Therion's Sami Karppinen, who's first show with Opeth is tonight (November 16) in Asheville, NC.
