EVILE - Five Serpents' Teeth

\r\nThird release for the English thrashers Evile and if what they say about a band’s third album (that is defining for their sound, career and all) stands true, these guys have nothing to worry about! “Five Serpent’s Teeth” is a thrash masterpiece that honors the genre and its creators! Supersonic, head smashing riffs, mind blowing rhythm section and a bombastic production that makes the compositions sound even more powerful than they are. Just the way they should. But all these are simple details compared to the compositions themselves! The songs reflect Evile’s influences from the once thriving Bay Area scene (Slayer, Exodus, Testament, Metallica) in a more aggressive way.
\r\nMatt Drake’s vocals are sounding far better than in their previous release two years ago and I think that he is starting to have what we’d call “personal touch”. Of course there will be those would claim that “Evile are trying to revive thrash metal by copying all those great bands of the past, especially the pioneers Metalica”. Well my answer to this is simple: A band that hasn’t released a decent album for at least two decades is no longer a band and should be considered a relic (but money’s sweet…) as for the genre, Matt’s statement was pretty clear “ We never tried to revive anything, thrash was always here”
\r\nI think that is very important for the new bands and the whole music scene to be open minded and give the bands the chance they deserve after hard and passionate working. Evile, whether you like it or not,  is such a band.
\r\nI personally prefer (and I suggest you do so) to listen to “Eternal Empire”s ultra speeding riff, bang my head with “Origin Of Oblivion”, smash everything around with “Descent into Madness” and let the washed up pioneers play “Little Lulu”
