EPITAPH

Το τι ξεπήδησε από την Tampa της Florida (γενικότερα στη Φλόριντα έγινε μουσικός πανικός) τέλη 80ς με αρχές 90ς είναι απίστευτο. Ειδικά στο  death metal ήχο. Πολλές από αυτές τις μπάντες έφτασαν στα αυτιά μας. Κάποιες δεν τα κατάφεραν, έμειναν με demos, δεν υπέγραψαν ποτέ συμβόλαιο και διαλύθηκαν. Σαν τους Epitaph (άπειρες μπάντες με αυτό το όνομα, ακόμα και από τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες). Ξεκίνησαν το 1990 από τον drummer Kevin Astl και τον κιθαρίστα/τραγουδιστή Tony Teegarden και σύντομα προστέθηκαν οι Wayne Burgess  στην κιθάρα  και Mark Good στο μπάσο.

The criminally short-lived and underrated EPITAPH began taking shape in Tampa, FL circa 1990, when drummer Kevin Astl and guitarist/vocalist Tony Teegarden eventually hooked up with Wayne Burgess (guitar) and Mark Good (bass). The quartet specifically set out to craft an intelligent and technical form of death metal that was brutal yet digestible, and by 1991 found themselves recording a three-song demo with Tom Morris at the legendary Morrisound Recording—complete with backing vocals from Obituary’s John Tardy.
