Excessive progress destroys music and ..our ears. No matter how hard I tried I failed to understand what Monsterworks are actually trying to play on this one. Casket Music labels them as Extreme Metal (as if metal is not extreme music already..) while introducing them as the most diverse band ever. Well this at least is true. Monsterworks are on the scene (I don’t know which one actually..) for 14 years now and they are playing…everything!

\r\nWith a name such as “Sick Of Society” and an album title called “Weekend Anarchy”, it’s not very hard for someone to guess the music genre in which that particular band is dedicated. So yes, Sick Of Society belong mainly to the punk scene, even though they define their music style as… Porn n’ Roll. Being however on the scene for almost 15 years, the German outfit have given their credentials and obviously nobody expects them to prove something.

\r\n 81db sent us their 4 tracks-promo EP, which was self-financed, about a year and a half ago. The feedback was very positive, and everything was showing that the band was very promising.

\r\nRebellion on my mind… I can still hear that tune in my ears and it makes sense as Rebellion are very close to Grave Digger musically.

\r\nBands like Goatwhore and albums like “Carving Out The Eyes Of God” (which is the 4th offering of the NOLA based band that is already counting 12 years on the scene) seem like an…eulogy for today’s death/black and in general extreme metal sound, which has become so complex that it’s almost boring. But let me explain myself…Goatwhore did not reinvent death metal.

NARNIA was formed in -96 and since -97 there have been 5 studio albums and 1 live DVD/CD released. After a few changes in lineups the band now stands on its most solid foundation ever and the latest release "Enter the Gate" was highly praised in the press. In 2008 NARNIA parted ways with singer Christian Liljegren. In August the same year Germán Pascual entered as the new voice of the band. And let me say that it was an addition which took the band a step up (to say the least).

Here we got the re release in 2009 of the album “The End” by the Hungarian Death metal outfit Sin Of Kain, that originally has been released through Cyanide Syndicate Records in 2007. A generic music style for this band sould be Progressive Death Metal with some Black metal elements, with well structured and quality compositions. I really noticed the background keyboards that reminded me something from the Dutch band Nocturnus and at the same time the melodic, nearly catchy passages.

Disolvo Animous were summoned in 2006 by Animus himself and after a while they released their first self titled work. “Death’s ruthless eyes” comes later in 2007 and after some line up changes and live appearances we’re reaching 2009 where they are releasing their new curse, this notorious EP. “Aleatoric Morte” is moving through majestic black metal paths haunting them with its pitch black compositions. Morbid instrumentations creating suffocating atmospheres through which merciless blastbeats and inexorable guitar riffs break out!
