\r\nTIME HAS COME AGAIN\r\n

\r\n

\r\n-Archaic- is Thrash/Death band from Hungary , formed back in 2004.In 2006 they released by themselves their first album. After some years they managed to sign with Vic Records and in these days they are recording their second full length album. Vic records thought that it would be perfect to release again their first album through them some months before the second album as a promotional trick.\r\n

Equal Vector come from Athens and this is their first studio albume, the "Aspectations". The genre is progressive power metal and their influences are quite respectable. Fates Warning, Dream Theater, Conception (finally !!!!), Rush, King Crimson (a progressive rock band of 1969). Although the album consists of only eight tracks the album is so strong and powerfull that you will forget the tracks number. Let’s start the review. Gentlement...start your engines!

\r\nThere are some bands out there who have put new elements to their music in order to attract a bigger audience, there are also bands that completely changed their music style appealing to a brand new audience.
\r\nLacuna Coil belong to the second category. Forget everything about the band you used to know in the first 2 albums. The only thing in common is Christina Scabbia’s voice. Apart from that, shallow life takes the “modern” sound of “karmacode” even further to a more Pop direction making their style even more “commercial”

\r\nSeems that during the last 3 years Amorphis’s songwriting ability has reached its peak. After their latest releases “Eclipse” and “Silent Waters” I really wasn’t expecting them to release something better. Well thankfully “Skyforger” came out to prove me wrong. One more time based on the finnish epic poem “Kalevala” Amorphis offer 10 excelent compositions satisfying even the most demanding of their fans.

\r\n “Now, what, only six songs?” would someone ask by checking the tracklist. The difference is that four of them are music themes rather than songs since they last more than 10 minutes each like for instance “The count of Tuscany”, which is almost 20 minutes long.

\r\nIN THRASH WE TRUST\r\n

June 17, 2009

\r\nWhen it’s time to review an instrumental album, it’s always like to\r\nstep on a stretched rope.\r\nOn one hand we have the fans of the instrumental - guitar hero genre,\r\nand on the other we have the ones that believe that is very tiring\r\nlistening to an\r\nentire virtuoso album. I am also an oppenent of virtuoso albums, but\r\nthis does not mean that I do\r\nnot love Jason Becker and Marty Friedman releases. I will try to be as\r\nobjective, or to be more correct, as less\r\nsubjective as possible. Let us begin!\r\n
