After three years of waiting during which the band offered us 2 split releases and a 7”, the finish doom metal outfit Spiritus Mortis, have finally returned with a brand new album. First of all, I admit that I’ve been waiting this release with such an expectation since Spiritus Mortis is a band I really respect and suggest to anyone that really digs “proper” Doom Metal, to take a good listen to them.
\r\nSometimes, based on the current music tensions, I wonder if a band that comes from the classic Metal scene could survive, far less if it could make some difference. RAM give an answer to that as they manage to impress you via their so classical and traditional style. The so much passionate and imposing vocals play a huge role to that. They are based mostly on Judas Priest and Iron Maiden riffing, and dark Mercyful Fate –like atmosphere with an intense epic mood on the top of it, that really carries you away.
\r\nThe Séance word reminds me of American teenagers movies in the’80s, who\r\nwere trying to call spirits in a basement surrounded by candles or\r\nwatching King Diamond video. Also, the word is the name of the Swedish\r\ndeath metal band that we are dealing write now. The band’s last\r\nrecording was in 1993. Since there is already a mini revival of\r\ntheSwedish death scene lately, the band decided to rejoin and record\r\nthe "Awakening Of The Gods".

\r\nI think that the Melodic Death Metal scene lost its way. The bands trying not be be repetitive ended being metalcore. But in that case where’s the melody ?
