After my Revolution Renaissance review i was waiting this one with a lot of curiosity. I wanted to see the rest of the ‘’strats’’ without their mastermind and main composer of the band. The result is very weird for me. First of all he is not missed. You can hardly understand that he is not in the band anymore. Also, this band seems to be reborn! ‘’Polaris’’ is by far a better album than everything Revolution Renaissance did. I admit i hadn’t see that coming.
\r\n"Ashes And Madness" is the second album of US metallers Avian. Apart from its founder and guitarist Yan Leviathan, and the singer Lance King (Balance of Power, Krucible, Pyramaze, Shining Star), the remaining line-up has been replaced completely. Dave Ellefson, former Megadeth bassist left to pursue his career with the F5 and replaced by Brian Hollenbeck, at least for the live shows. If he will become a full member of the band ... it’s something that will be decided in the future.
\r\nHey lad…I ‘m talking to you. We need a Viking here for our cover..
\r\n-Done!
\r\nAnd here we have another chapter in our Viking metal era. I love epic tunes! From Bathory, Enslaved, Primordial, Amon Amarth to Manowar, Grave Digger and Hammerfall, a nice epic tune makes my day. If you are not familiar with the sound of TYR i ‘d name them ‘’Drunk Viking Metal’’ band! Their tunes are ok. Nice memorable melodies and the appropriate lyrics are non- negotiable matter here!

\r\nI first heard of\r\nBirds Of Prey as an all star band ( come on…do a little search for\r\nyourselves) but to be honest, I was not so much impressed by their\r\nprevious album, not from this one either. I didn’t say it is a bad\r\nrecord, though. The exact opposite. The production and sound are very\r\ngood, just as any other Relapse release and tha songs are well\r\ncomposed and everything is played well and in place.

\r\nHardcore crust made in\r\nSweden? Not so new and original, huh? Of course here we deal with a\r\nlate 90’s recording, not a new one. Mr. Swano , Mr. Axelsson and\r\nMr. Larsson (all members of Edge Of Sanity) deliver us d-beat and\r\npunk as taught by their compatriots Skitsystem and Anticimex ages now\r\nand they do great. Japcore bands like Liberate and Sob also came in\r\nmy mind.

\r\nStraight\r\nforward. Only this comes in mind while I listen to the new ANB\r\nrelease. The most in-your-face, barbaric, “regular”, mature album\r\nof these Americans by far.

\r\nFRENCH POWER \r\n \r\n
\r\nFrench band - Mistaken Element - were formed back in 1998 by the name - Scarr - .Soon they changed their name into -MIstaken Element- and after many years with no official releases they recorded their debute album - Engraved in Memory - in 2006 .Now , after three years they are back with their second work and they are showing their teeth with great production and fresh ideas. \r\n
\r\nRecorded on September the 16th, 2006 in Atlanta, during ProgPower VII festival, “Live in America” gives us the picture from this gig, as we already had a taste through the double cd that came out before this release. Jorn, with his so elegant Rock ‘N’ Roll image, merely magnetizes you without having to walk miles and miles upon the stage. However the (cameras) direction is not that good. The shots change very slowly and ruin the whole “concert” feeling. The group ‘s performance is very good, and so is the production..
\r\nMike Scalzi and his company are back! Almost 2 years after “Hardworlder”, Slough Feg (as they are now called) release another album which seems to be a loyal follower to their trademark sound. Besides, one of Slough Feg’s biggest achievements is the fact that they have managed to create a very distinct sound and their very own identity which comprises of lots of NWOBHM elements and influences from many late’70s bands, while at the same time a folk element can be heard crawling here and there in their songs.\r\n
