\r\nThe Italians “Mandragora Scream” is indeed a very peculiar case of a band and “Volturna” is their fourth and as their company suggests their most experimental release so far. Most of us when we hear that a band is serving the Dark/Gothic movement having a woman on vocals more or less we know what to expect, common electro pop melodies escorted by Operatic or more likely ethereal female vocals. Mandragora Scream seems to disobey the rule that most of the bands of the genre are composing.

Celestial Immunity hails from Alexandroupolis and this is their first self released demo CD that has been released in 2009 entitled “Lost In Shades” and features 5 compositions moving into the Death Metal musical direction with some more melodic aesthetics.

\r\nThis is the second album for BURNING BLACK, after “Prisoners of Steel”. A nice instrumental intro for starters and then a devastating Judas Priest-like riffing on the first song makes absolutely clear that their compositions are based on the classical style οφ Judas Priest, Accept and the relative.

I never denied my admiration for the X-IRON MAIDEN singer (to be honest, we all known him by this title) and his work not only with IRON MAIDEN (X-Factor is a masterpiece!) but also with his solo albums. “Promise and Terror” is their 5th studio release and in my opinion is their greatest album since 2000’s “Silicon Messiah”. There are 2 basic elements that really make this album special.

\r\nThe story goes back to 1989, when two young boys, Ken and Sam decide to join forces. They create the band High Noon, which is absolutely in the spirit of the time; they are playing Hard Rock/Hair Metal, which was very popular back then.
\r\nA few live shows, good PR and a demo followed up, however, the band split up very soon. Problems between band members on one hand and the “empire” of Grunge on the other hand, led to the end of their history which was marked by their last show on August ’93.
