\r\nThe Cursed is more like a side project thing from where I see it cause the names alone that are featured in this band speak obviously the truth. Starting with the legendary vocalist OVERKILL’s Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, and continuing with the high credited guitarist Dan Lorenzo (ex-HADES, NON-FICTION) while the lineup is filled up with bassist Job The Raver (MURDER 1) and former NON-FICTION drummer Mike Cristi. With a contract with Locomotive Records in their hands those mucisians release their debut album, titled “Room Full of Sinners“.
\r\nANCESTRAL is an Italian quintet and this is their debut full length album being finally released by Underground Symphony after its previous postpone, originally it was planned to come out last fall 2006 but several technical reasons delayed the release to almost a year afterwards. Their music features pure heavy/power metal in the vein of old BLIND GUARDIAN and old HELLOWEEN while there are moments some thrashy cuts here and there slightly bringing to mind the groovy sound of ICED EARTH.

\r\nA big relief for me. At last received the new demo from the greek band from Thessaloniki, under the ultimate name, Scooby Doom! As the name states , it’s all about pure, down tempo, occult, Doom metal, in the vein of Saint Vitus, Warning, Count Raven and of course Black Sabbath. 4 tracks in it with good production,
\r\nGolthoth is a black metal band from Treviso (north-east Italy), born in 2007 from the ashes of Vediom (formerly know as Veediom). After the separation with their previous drummer Rise they decided to change their moniker and Golthoth was risen up with a new direction and a self-produced four –track demo, titled Ruins Of The Damned. Their sound features aggressive black metal with some death-metal elements, raw and grim with the guitarlines defined by an engraved melodic shade.

\r\nWitchcraft from Orebro Of Sweden, 6 years ago released their first 7th Inch. Showing their respect and admiration to bands like Pentagram (US), Blue Cheer And Black Sabbath. Lee Dorrian, the Owner of Rise Above Records and front man of the mighty Cathedral, happened to listen to this 7th Inch (Angel Or Demon) and soon Witchcraft became the beloved band of Rise Above Records. For Rise Above Witchcraft released in 2004 the same titled, "Witchcraft" album and the next year released the "Firewood" album.
\r\nIve been looking forward for the new album by Amorphis with great impatience, the reason is that the previous album "Eclipse" gain the interest of the Amorphis fans also of the metal audience in general. After the departure of Pasi Koskinen and the very descent in my opinion replacement by Tomi Joutsen, the band did the surpise last year (2006) with an album that really has gain the fans good impression. And if you think that this stops after releasing the Eclipse album… you are mistken.
\r\nBritish Doomsters/Stoners, Electric Wizard return with their new, 6th, forthcoming album under the name "Witchcult Today". It took 3 years since the release of "We Live" album, and a drummer change has taken place, to provide us their new work full of the Electic Wizard classic sound. Down tempo music but solid, heavy and of course with many psychedelic parts, lyrics once again refer to the Occult arts, Holy Inquisution, Witches, classic cult horror movies and of course their beloved habbit, Weed!.
\r\nThere was a time (especially the 80’s) where the Greek Metal bands in comparison with the foreign ones, have been sounded more like a bad joke, than a descent effort, for the greek metalheads. The reasons for rejecting older greek metal bands were the lack of music knowledge (by the members of these bands) as well as the very poor in quality productions (with some exeptions of course). Fortunate during the 90’s these disadvantages have been wiped out, so nowdays, we consider some greek bands better than the foreign ones.
