Well, I can’t hide my satisfaction and this smile on my face for having here this promo cd from the Athenian outfit Sorrows Path. After 14 years (without counting the remastered demos) the band eventually made it and they got their debut album out!!

\r\nThis is the self-titled cd of Wolfspring and I have to say that it was a great surprise to me as I conceder it as one of the most inspired albums that I have listened to during the last months.
\r\nWolfspring is Jean-Pierre Louveton ‘s brainchild; he is the guitarist and vocalist of the french band, NEMO, who are very close to Wolfpsring’s style; their debut album shows that this band is very hopeful for the future.

\r\nΗow bad can a bad album cover affect me? Very, VERY bad. And by staring at this 80’s styled face watching at me I had the first slap. And that is something that hit me again after the first hearing of Emergency Gate’s cd. A band we saw opening for Kreator a couple of years ago, a performance that didn’t even touch the average. Until then I was unaware of their very existence so when the promo came I didn’t exactly burst into tears of joy...

\r\nOtargos come from France and offer us their fourth release after only 9 years of existence. The band has also released quite a few demos, they’ve been productive the least to say. Quite busy but also quite effective as it proves. French black metal gains yet another diamond, to decorate its collection. This musical interest that bands from France tend to put out is present here too, no tendency for conventional forms. No interest in bittersweet recipes.

\r\nDespite the really catchy and attractive “tags” on the net, (Ancient music like Medieval, Orchestral, Classic and Epic music, Irish and Celtic music, music from Iceland, Ambient music, music from certain movies, some bands from Metal, Gothic and Rock music with good emotion and special ambient and atmosphere, Dramatic music) their songs are not that impressive. REQUIEM ETERNAM have nice ideas, in general, however the fail in creating the dramatic and anxious mood they are trying to create.

\r\nDefinitely, one of the most charming things in progressive metal is that you never know what to expect. Tears, wouldn’t break the rule; “Memories of things unnecessary”, consists of three parts (two, actually, as the first two songs are radio editions) and each one is a unit in the EP, which is not connected to the other musically. The mastermind of this effort is Gouaime Divanis.

\r\nTwo years ago I found myself wondering, if the comeback of one of the most gifted Heavy Metal composers/guitarists was for one release, or he had something to "offer" to the music he used to "serve" in the past. Then I thought :"Well, time will show" and it actually did. So second album for Ross the Boss (and his) band, by the title "Hailstorm" and musical direction standards, to where the previous ("New Metal Leader") has set .

“Beyond The Space, Beyond The Time” is the debut album of the Polish act Pathfinder that are on the scene since 2006. For first release I would state that “Beyond The Space, Beyond The Time” is quite a complicated symphonic power metal album, which is odd when it comes to power metal with all its clichés. Pathfinder have done a magnificent job in composing epic songs following the lead of Rhapsody (mostly), Labyrinth and in some parts Blind Guardian.

\r\nΑfter several demos and split releases the spanish folk/black metallers with the strange name offer another round of their unique style. Moving on underground soil, they don’t seem to break any sweat about "fame", only for creative expression and their own satisfaction. At least that comes to mind after seeing how often/seldom they release something. Only second full length after 4 demos and 7 splits!
