\r\nThe truth is that when they begun as a tribute band I was a bit doubtful about them. Okay, it’s cool to cover songs, but making a carreer based on them is not that interesting in my opinion, and I’m being sceptical when it comes to this. However, the fact that Apocalyptica could play in a heavy way by only using their cellos seemed unreal. Heavy sounds and feeling, through a different perspective and approach; yes, that sets a new basis in metal music.
Decrepit Birth hail from California with their brand new third studio release entitled “Polarity”. Truth is that though I’ve never heard of that band till now I found their Tech Death Metal delivered on Polarity pretty interesting.
\r\nThis fresh French melodeath act unleashes its 3rd album Wasteland Chronicles in truly hard times. Beneath an amazing cover lay 47 minutes of modern metal in the vein of Arch Enemy and the likes. A genre that had its days and strives to maintain a decent quality status. But In Arcadia start off their new effort with a couple of weak songs, moving on with bits and pieces of interesting ideas here and there and manage to disappoint in the very end. Let’s see through it. Indifferent and way too common riffs are there to bore you at times.
\r\nDespite the small problem which occured, regarding the postage and the delivery of Shinigami’s debut cd, the band was kind enough to (re)send us a sample of 3 songs. The band was formed back on 2009 in Athens (Greece) and from these songs, somebody would say that, their music is a mixture of hard rock (Deep Purple style) with some heavy elements (Metallica influenced), among others.
\r\nIf I was asked to choose among my all time favorite bands for a compilation- cd, definitely I would include Iron Maiden, Metallica, Guns ‘N’ Roses and Pantera. In a way, Avenged Sevenfold are a combination of this compilation.
\r\nIt’s really unbelievable how some albums can carry you away, reminding you of days long gone using just a familiar melody or a single guitar riff.
Well, the outfit The Black…oh yes the Swedes Black metallers right? WRONG!!! The Black is one of the longest running Italian heavy / doom / prog metal outfits of Italy, having their first release “Reliquarium” E.P. back in 1989 and till now count 7 full length releases (“Infernus Paradisus Et Purgatorium” – 1990, “Abbatia Scl.
Do you feel that you are missing the combination Speed music with raw production and thrash riffing? Well don‘t be disappointed I got something here just for you.
What? A review for Iron Man’s “Black Night” in 2010? Yes indeed, since a couple of weeks ago this remastered release of the album on Shadow Kingdom Records reached me, so I considered a great opportunity to write down some thing about this great band from Maryland.
\r\nIRON MAIDEN.Two words which are causing awe to every metalhead who has respect for the roots of his beloved music. IRON MAIDEN in Greek refers to the medieval torture device, which nowadays still "tortures" our ears. Fifteenth album for the beloved veteran British, which even if it is rumoured to be their last one, ou can’t describe it as "least".
