A year after the release of their debut album, Unherz return with a brand new release called “Herzschlag”. It’s the first time that I listened to their music and I can’t say that I am impressed, on the contrary listening to the album left me completely indifferent. Besides the music that could be labeled as classic Heavy Metal and has some good riffing here and there (nothing that we haven’t already heard before) I didn’t find anything else to grab my attention.

\r\nANOTHER KILLER ALBUM\r\n

\r\n

\r\n-Criminal- are ready with their seventh official album and their fans are going to love it as the new album, titled –Akelarre-, is another killer one!\r\n

\r\n

\r\nThe band returned three years after their last release with another full length that has it all. Power, agression, speed and perfect production. Great Thrash riffs, nice leads, excelent bass and drumming and Anton Reisenegger delivering nice aggressive Thrash vocals. The production is very nice and the whole album has great sound.\r\n

\r\nI made the same question to myself as I did when Road Salt One was released: if it wasn’t a Pain of Salvation album, would I still like it? The answer was positive again.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nIt sounds like a soundtrack, coming from some other place and time, so distant and old but somehow contemporary; what really stands out is the sequence, the uniformity and the coherence, despite the abrupt changes, which are very common for Pain of Salvation.

\r\nThat’s the fourth full length album for the band of Liv Kristene Espenaes Krull (Theatre Of Tragedy) and her husband’s Alex Krull (Atrocity).

\r\nCombining elements from various music fields is really exciting sometimes. Dominanz is the successor of the project Cult of Deception, which was formed in 2006. As I shine is the title of their debut album, following the release of the single The end of all there is (2010), which also contained the song Infinity.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nTheir music is very modern; their style is a mixture of elements coming from bands such as Rammstein, Deathstars, Gothminister, Agathodaimon. They combine industrial, black, death, as well as 00’s electro elements.

\r\nUsually, when it comes to a demo album most of us presume that the sound quality will be awful; this is true most of the times, indeed.

\r\nBeing a progressive metal with an old school metal attitude is kinda odd; yet, that’s exactly what the music of the British band Hunted is all about; there are several rhythmical styles and music themes changing all the time, and their music has many technical parts as well, yet overall it’s old school. \r\n

\r\n

\r\nThe compositions are based on a strange mixture of influences and ideas, which are not combined that well with each other.

Furor Gallico is a very promising act! After listening to their self titled debut album I ended up concluding that music knows neither boundaries nor nationality. But let me explain the reason that triggered that thought. By listening to the album with the impressive celtic melodies emerging from a death metal background I thought that this is about another English or Scandinavian band. So imagine my surprise when I found out that Furor Gallico are Italians and they play “Pagan Metal” at its best!

\r\nYet another Powerwolf album meant to fulfill the need for powerful heavy metal riffs, endeavoring lyrics, turbulence guitars and eerie vocals. You can’t miss with a recipe like this. That’s mainly the reason why Powerwolf have become one of the most promising bands around ever since they surfaced the metal scene back in 2003. With every new release they become better more bounded, more solid and their sound is always exhilarating.
