\r\nYoung guys, which at first they seem to go with what at these days seems to be not only just another trend but a whole genre of its own, as another sub-category of the modern metal scene.. With what would I have to do this time? The beautiful, in a strange way, with this genre is that everyone seems to be against it but it keeps growing up.. The fans of classic hard rock/metal would characterize the sound as too mainstream, while the new metal fans that came into this community via the TV-metal would think this is too extreme, too hard for them..

\r\nDoes the name Alex Beyrodt remind you of something? That talented guitarist that has intensely left the marks both in SINNER and SILENT FORCE, in which he was a leading member? That one, yes. His collaboration with PRIMAL FEAR as tour guitarist is also remarkable. Today he is considered as a guitar hero in Japan, a fact that would probably leave many people apathetic, however we are mentioning it just for the record, as it is very trendy to be recognized for your guitarist skills.
Battlerage is a an Chilean outfit and in their back catalogue have already two demo releases, one Studio album, one E.P. and a live album during the 5 years of existence.
\r\nSo their two demos from 2003 (“Metal Slaughter” και “Return of the Axeman”) , now have been re-released remixed and remastered (plus two bonus tracks) from Metal On Metal under the title “The Slaughter Returns”
\r\nDisneyland After Dark also known as D.A.D are from the cases of the\r\nbands who even though they had what it takes to be famous, for some\r\nreason (that most of the times had to do with marketing problems) they\r\nnever managed to do so.
\r\nDear Superstar are another Glam – Emo English band and they sound just like it. This is their second release and like their debut "Confessions Of A Twisted Mind" is presenting a mix of Glam/Hard rock along with some emo elements.
\r\n“Playing” with common sounds and styles, which we will name as Stoner in order to use simple terms, and adapting them in what the listener would want to hear today, and that means avoiding any kind of putting limits to your musical directions, but being based on your influences in order move some steps forward instead, it’s not the easiest thing. The experimentation is legitimate, and in the case of THIS HAVEN particularly welcomed as it involves a musical result that differs indeed, and that has something to tell us.
\r\nThis is the first release for the Brazilian band, Soulriver, entitled “The Dark Path of the Fallen Souls”. The band is referred on many sites as a Doom metal / Stoner Band, but after the hearing of the album these guys sound like a mix of classic heavy metal with many Nevermore / Iced Earth references and a more in your face riffing.
\r\nEven though initially their name may remind of something that is kind of “cheerful” in lack of better word, at least speaking about myself on a personal level, the truth is that the songs totally made me change my mind. From the first hearing actually, as many more followed. They are somehow melodramatic, and pessimists at the same time. They are dark; however they are giving eroticism through the melancholy of the lyrics and their music. This damn feeling that is the eternal Muse for all those who need to express via words all that burns inside like acid.
Well, this is the second album for the Germany based heavy metal outfit Metal Law and this time through Metal on Metal Records. I strongly believe that by the hearing of their name is easy for someone to imagine their basic elements of music, pure European heavy metal with many influences from the awesome German scene and groups like Accept and Running Wild plus some pinches of Heaven’s Gate, mainly due too the vocal lines. On “Lawbreaker” we also meet some influences from the playing of Y.J.
\r\nThe Germans Tomorrow’s Eve as if returning from a distant hellish world they are telling us histories and thoughts in an enchanting and at the same time melancholic way, putting us in a trip of haunting melodies. A battle between dream and nightmare, through small narrations and songs coming from a twisted mind which is lost somewhere between imagination and its torturing reality while trying to find the reasons that led to this situation and wanting desperately to escape from all these voices that have captured it there.
