Signum Regis is a band founded by the bass player and songwriter Ronnie Konig in 2007, surving the purpose of composing different music than his regular band, used to play. Hiring one of the most gifted vocalists (Goran Edman), who has worked with guitar heroes such as John Norum (Total Control) and Yngwie J. Malmsteen (Eclipse - Fire and Ice) among others, has turned to be a very inspired idea for the whole efford.
This release reached me a couple of weeks ago, although this is a last year’s release, but it would be nice to include this one in metalzone.gr review section since is a very good release.
\r\n25 years have already past for the veteran thrashers Destruction, who strike back with a new "in-your-face" album.Despite the fact that the band carries a quarter of a century in its back, the only word that you can’t use to describe it, is "tired". What else could anybody expect from Schmier’s gang, but a pure old school thrash release? On the other hand, modern production (made by Jacob Hansen) carries them to the present and make them sound as fresh(??) as a newbie band!!
\r\nThe Banner is a metalcore band from New Jersey, USA and "Frailty" is their third LP. The album consists of twelve tracks of hardcore punk music with ejections of the modern thrash and metal. Mostly the sound is an angry, intense musical assault with fast riffs and double-bass drums and of course the usual emphasis on breakdowns built by slower, passages and chugging guitars with a strong Black Sabbath-esque flair conducive to a ruthless moshing while the vocalist is screaming out the lyrics full of passion and anger.

\r\nBasically only the name of this band was sufficiently enough to make me eager to listen to their effort. Arathorn was Aragorn’s father in Lord of the Rings and obviously for a metaller who is also a huge fan of Tolkien or heroic fantasy in general (including me), there is nothing better from a fine unification between our beloved music and lyrics about swords, dragons and legends of heroes.
\r\nHow could a guest act - jam, become a band, a new beginning or even better, a powerful comeback, for one of the most gifted and respected guitarists in the Epic Metal are(n)a. To be more specific, everything begun at the "Keep It True" festival where Ross The Boss teamed up with Ivory Knight from Germany. Since then and after a tour, they decided to join forces and
\r\n"New Metal Leader" was born...The legacy is heavy for the ex-member and co-founder of the legendary Manowar, but who else could be more appropriate to handle it, than this man himself??
\r\n"Taara, avita!" ("Help us, Taara!") Thus sounded the ancient warchant in the 13th century and thus may it sound once again in the year 2007! Tharaphita’s newest (4-th) release sees the band returning to its roots — back to the rough pagan reality, to the Estonian mothertongue.
