\r\n

\r\nThe album is a great saple of the modern Death Metal scene of Finland. Death/Grindcore  guitars, great drumming and a really nice voice. The production is great and so is the cover artwork of the album. \r\n

I really don’t know why but listening to “Isolation Songs” left me with a sense of loss. As if something just vanished into thin air. Something that has always been but is not anymore. As if something has been taken by this album. I start thinking that by giving it another chance I could understand where all this came from, I could track down the root of this feeling. I turn out the lights and I push “Play” button for the second time. Melodies are charging through the speakers filling the room with images.

One of the oldest greek doom/ death bands recently released their debut cd, “INSIDE”, via I for an I Records. Their first demo was out on September 1997 already and ever since they have supported acts such as Marduk (2001), Candlemass (2002), Kaamos (2003), Saturnus and Misanthrope (2008). I think that now it’s time for the band to set the basis for a better future.

The Swedish “Igneous Human” are just another band which reproduces that well known Scandinavian Death metal sound. With their debut “Pyroclastic Storms” the band tries to win some of the followers of that specific genre, whether they succeed in this, well I have serious doubts.

\r\nFierce and complex melodies that seem to grab you by the neck to drive you over the building tops and then suddenly through you to the ground on an outburst of speed, rage and power, this is how I would describe the new ARSIS album, Starve For The Devil. The blend of speed, technical parts, blast beats and melodies so well entwined into a unique result. I have to admit I am quite difficult to please when it comes to technical death metal. However, the drummer Mike Van Dyne is like fierce like a hammer without loosing his outstanding speed.
