\r\nHELL ON EARTH \r\n

February 17, 2009

Oh my dear Lord…Well here we deal with a band which many of you must be familiar with. The Danish based outfit, Iron Fire releasing their new album, that despite the fact that their label tries to persuades us that this is power metal, I get the impression that something goes wrong with my ears. I found this one like a hammerfall-ish way of power metal mixed with some AOR – ish choruses.

Stromrider is a German based outfit and after their first full length release “Shipwrecked” (2004) via the Italian Label Underground Symphony, returned in 2008 with their second release, on a different label. The Album is entitled “Fate of the Hunter” and has been released though Pure Steel Records.

The German outfit Custard is already a band with more of ten years in action and every release of them, meets the right feedback from their loyal friends. So they do move on with their difficult task. Yes difficult, because it’s so difficult these days to write and perform traditional power heavy metal, since if you try to do this, you ll be immediately criticized as a band that stick to the past, the past that many people consider as long dead…

\r\nWith ex members from Tr3ple P and Sika and after forming the band in Copenhagen 2-3 years ago, The Interbeing presents us an EP of three songs which are heavy, gloomy, and based on electronic elements. The truth is that the material is very small and I would like to avoid getting the wrong idea, however even based on that it’s a good peace of work. Melodic, atmospheric, while the vocals, the heavy riffs and the dark electronic veil which covers everything are the most important spots to refer.

Scott "Wino" Weinrich is a name that has gained a “cult” status all these years among the metal / rock community being a member of many of the most significant bands of the genre such as The Obsessed, Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan, The Hidden Hand, Place Of Skulls and the list seems to be endless.

This particular album has been released some months ago, but only now I had the chance to get a copy, but I consider that this one must be reviewed on metalzone.gr for two reasons, fisrt of all, there must be many people out there that really wants a review and the second that the album “needs” to be reviewed due to it’s significance.

\r\nStraight out of hell, an Unholy Ritual. Possessed from the very depths of hell, their morbid silhouettes emerge, ready to entwine the world in the darkest veil of Erebus. Speaking of which, the vocalist spits his cursed soul out seeking salvation that never comes. Accompanied, through this crawling chaos, by the Blasphemous blasting of another savage and tormented soul the eerie sound of this album leads you to a bottomless abyss where you pray for release to a weak and lame God that failed and is now hiding in shame to avoid disgrace. Pitch black darkness, decay and never ending hate.
